Users can change their own passwords across multiple systems, using a web browser. They select a new password, to comply with the displayed global security policy, and systems on which the new password will be set.

Users are prevented from selecting an insecure password. The password policy is displayed on the screen, and any violations are explained clearly before the user is asked to try again.

The results of every password change are displayed clearly. P-Synch® will automatically follow up with e-mails to the user, and can create tickets in a help desk application in the event of a failure.

In the event that a user forgets his password, s/he can initiate a password reset, using some other form of authentication -- such as answering personal questions.

This facility is even available from the workstation login prompt, using either the secure kiosk account (no client software at all!), or by installing a wrapper GINA DLL on workstations.

P-Synch can manage RSA SecurID tokens, as well as passwords. This includes setting, resetting or synchronizing PINs with passwords; enabling or disabling tokens; resynchronizing token clocks; etc.

In the event that users have different login IDs on different systems, and there is not already some system of record or key attribute that can be used to match IDs on different systems back to global user profiles, users may be asked to attach their various IDs into their own profiles, as shown here.

Help desk analysts can also use P-Synch. In this screen shot, a support analyst is searching for the security profile of a caller, prior to offering assistance. Wildcard searches are supported.

Once the analyst has found the appropriate user profile, s/he can authenticate the caller and reset one or more passwords.
